About The Project
Introducing "Stop 2 Quit," a captivating new deep, jazzy, and lo-fi house music 12" compilation EP that delves into the art of sonic escape amidst the overwhelming noise of modern life. Featuring a hard-hitting lineup of producers — Darone Sassounian, Jamma D, and Jarren representing Los Angeles, Roche in Portland, and Morris Mobley in Nancy, France — each track serves as a remedy to the relentless barrage of messages and distractions that flood our minds. Available in a standard black wax version, as well as a limited press of just 50 units on striking royal blue vinyl, all copies are screen-printed by Sam Arellano and labels hand-stamped by CQQL crew Randy Ellis and Alaia Pareja. About The Artist
About The Artist
About The Artist

Morris Mobley
Nostalgic, suave, cosmopolitan, lustrous, and precise, Morris Mobley is an alter-ego engineered to chill vibes, and simultaneously blow minds. Transport into the neo-noir, a timeless environment of dimly-lit nightclubs, smoky spaces, and hazy visions, where razor sharp vocals dance in tandem with a warm jazz-funk guitar, backed by the analog crispness of icy 808 hits and luxurious synth pads.

Jarren
Jarren, an LA-based producer and DJ with Panamanian heritage, draws deeply from his rich musical roots. Growing up with a father who played saxophone, his early exposure to gospel and jazz has shaped his sound. Always in the studio, Jarren’s music reflects this blend of influences sharing his laid-back dynamic energy with audiences everywhere. Other sought-after musical projects can be found on Apron Records, Slices of a Dog, and self-released by Jarren himself.

Jamma D
L.A. DJ/producer/beat maker Jamma D has been a figure in the west coast funk and boogie scene, both as an accomplished DJ and music producer, having released records under his own name and producing for the likes of Steve Arrington (Slave), Joyce Wrice, Mndsgn, and more. From a musical upbringing, Jamma’s adolescent obsession with record digging and beat making led him to Dam-Funk’s world-renown Funkmosphere parties early on, where he built relationships with key players in the LA funk scene and began to make a name for himself as a DJ and producer. In the second half of the 2010’s he released a series of EPs on New York label Arcane and hosted the legendary Soul In Paradise show on NTS radio from 2016-2020. In 2023, he released his debut full-length LP ‘Perceptions’ on Onra’s NBN Records re-imagining hip-hop, funk, R&B, and house through a distinctly California lens.

Roche
Ben Winans makes music as Roche, pronounced however you feel like saying it. Roche makes experimental electronic music that is rooted in Hip Hop and expressed in many forms, Downtempo, Ambient, House, Techno, Beats and more.
Roche's first solo release, on his own (with DJ Enso and friends) label Solos Records, came out over 20 years ago. He has since released a handful of vinyl releases, cassettes and quite a number of digital releases, working with labels such as 100% Silk, the short lived highly acclaimed Bay Area Icee Hot label, SF's Vinyl Dreams record store's only vinyl release, Hieroglyphic Being's highly revered Mathematics Recordings, Doc Sleep's much loved Jacktone label, all three of DJ Randy Ellis's labels Voltaire, Hobo Camp, and CQQL, and DJ partner and dear friend Cherushii (Rest In Peace) and his own label Run The Length Of Your Wildness.
Roche is also a record roach, an avid collector, and digger of a wide range of sounds. Frequenting the dollar bins and Goodwills, putting in work for the fun and rare finds. At one time he was also a weekly Club DJ and Radio DJ, working with Underground SF, The Basement, SutroFM, Freeform Portland, Fault Radio, and many more.
Expect a lot more music, Roche is sitting on a lot of tracks and continues to make more.

Darone Sassounian
Darone Sassounian hails from Los Angeles, where he single-handedly runs the Rocky Hill label. His wide arsenal of tunes take inspiration from disco, soul, jazz, international obscurities of the 70’s and 80’s. In 2021, he released the highly acclaimed compilation ‘Silk Road: Journey of the Armenian Diaspora: 1971 - 1982’ on Terrestrial Funk, which got support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Danilo Plessow, and Palms Trax. Beyond the productions housed on Rocky Hill, Darone holds down a monthly residency at Los Angeles hideaway Club Tee Gee and hosts a radio residency at Los Angeles’s highly acclaimed Dublab.
